Cold-causing viruses flourish in lower humidity and can spread easily in enclosed areas, research indicates.

‘Pag bumahing ‘yung may sipon, doon lang umiikot ‘yung virus sa paligid,” Dr. Rey Salinel, an infectious diseases expert, said.

According to Smithsonian, an online educational magazine, when a sick person coughs, sneezes or talks, they expel virus-containing droplets into the air and droplets which can spread up to six feet.

Salinel says it is also important to get enough rest as soon as you feel symptoms. Applying a vapor rub with continuous 8-hour relief on the chest, throat and back can also help relieve persistent cough and colds.

“You will feel comfortable and rested.
